TSgt McBride departed Turner AFB on 23 Feb 62 to attend the MATS NCO Academy at Orlando AFB, Fla.
A2C Mika, entered welding school 15 Feb 62 at State Vocational School in Albany for off-duty instruction. Good work, "Mike."
MSgt (SMSgt that is) Benefield and TSgt Astin, "Quail Hunters," had to discontinue one of their hunts this February in the Cairo, Georgia area, due to rattlesnakes. It seems there were more snakes than quails. Sgt Benefield was struck by a 4 1/2 foot Diamond-Back, on the toe of his hunting boot.
Luckily, the fangs only scarred his boot. This little incident wrote
"FINIS" to their hunting season.
